Dr. Daddy

Lance had an opening while in Pedo clinic, so he scheduled Kaeson for a cleaning.  Kaeson was so excited to go to school with daddy! He was the only kid in clinic so Lance said he got oodles of attention.  Not surprisingly, he wouldn't say a word to anyone.  Lance said he did awesome, sat really still and kept his mouth open great.  He was so excited to come home and show Parker all his cool toys they gave him.

Happy Half Birthday!

It's hard to believe, but my baby girl is now six months old! She has grown up so fast. She is such a delight, and we all so enjoy her so much!  I didn't think it was possible, but the boys love her even more than they did when she was born!  They are so cute and loving with her, and they both still love to hold her and take care of her.  She is an angel of a baby!  We are so lucky!  She has been sleeping through the night for nearly a month now. She still doesn't take great naps, but we usually get a good long nap out of her in the afternoon. She is now sitting up completely on her own. This last week we finally started her on rice cereal, and she loves it.  She would eat the entire box in one sitting if we let her!  To our amazement, she started crawling this past week!  She's not getting all over the house just yet, but she is definitely crawling! She can also sit herself up and now she sits up in her crib after we lay her down and she plays/cries for quite a while. Hopefully we break her of that soon.

At her 6 month check-up, she weighed 14 pounds even, and was 25 1/8 inches long. Which means she is in the 15th percentile for weight, 25th for height, and 5th for head circumference. She took a big dive on the growth chart, but when I told the doctor that that seems to be a pattern all of my kids have followed, she didn't seem too concerned.  We'll see if starting her on some solid food will help fatten her up a little, but I'm guessing it won't make much difference. She is the world's cutest little runt if you ask me!

Christmas in Kentucky

This year was our first Christmas spent with just our little family here in Kentucky.  We had a wonderful, relaxing break from school, just hanging out as a family and not stressing about traveling and squeezing all of Christmas into our suitcases. Santa spoiled our kids rotten of course, and they loved every minute of it. It was all a little bittersweet; however, as we really missed being able to spend the Holidays with family.  It was a little sad missing out on the excitement of Christmas morning with all the cousins.

Here's a picture of our cute little tree right after Santa visited, but before the kids destroyed the whole room in a matter of seconds!

Parker and his Christmas pajamas.
All the kids in their adorable Christmas clothes from Grandma and Grandpa.

Kaeson playing with his choo-choo train.
Parker got a criss cross crash from Santa and he LOVES it!  He didn't stop playing it for a week straight!
Macie enjoyed just hanging out on Christmas day.  Here she is in her awesome little skinny leg jeans from Grandma and Grandpa and her sweet Nikes from Santa.
Another adorable outfit from the grandparents.
Kaeson singing us a beautiful song on his new guitar.  That  kid loves to sing!  He can turn anything into a song!  The song of the month was Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Fun at Grandma and Papa's House

After our weekend in Salt Lake, we all headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house for loads and loads of fun.  The kids had a blast!  Their cousins Hallie and Peyton were there to play with all week.  They LOVE them!  It was so nice to hang out with the family.  The kids went sledding off the deck, made candy trains, attempted a sleepover in the basement with Grandma, and helped Grandma make sugar cookies.  She is a brave and patient woman!  We were also able to spend a day with all of my Grandparents.  Unfortunately, I don't get to see them very often, so it was really nice to spend that time with them and let them see my kids.

The Polar Express

Before we left Utah, we went on the Heber Creeper to the Polar Express.  Parker was way excited about it! He asked a hundred times in the weeks before when we were going on the Polar Express.  He loved watching out the window as we rode the train.  The whole experience was a bit of a letdown, but overall the kids enjoyed it.
Parker, Grandma Patty and Macie waiting for the train to go.
Parker, Hallie, Me, Kaeson, Papa, and Macie. I'm not sure why I'm yelling at dad. Sorry dad!
 The whole gang, minus Gina.
Parker talking to Santa.  Kaeson was scared of Santa, so we didn't get a picture with him.
Macie and Santa. If you look closely, you can see that she has a fistful of Santa's beard. When he went to hand her back to me, she pulled Santa with her.  He had a hard time getting loose, and the kids thought it was pretty funny. Hallie says it was her favorite part!

Temple Square

After Thanksgiving, my parents took the boys home to stay with them for a few days, and then Macie and me flew out and stayed another week.  We all spent a weekend in Salt Lake before heading to Grandma and Grandpa's house. We stayed at Little America, just like we used to do every year when we were little. We took the kids to see Temple Square.  It was a long night and pretty cold, but it was great!

A Nebraska Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year, we drove to Omaha to stay with my sister and her family. My parents met us their and we all had lots of fun together.  It worked out so nicely since we didn't get to spend Christmas with family. We went to the Winter Quarters Temple and Visitors center and saw all the cool gingerbread houses, went to The amazing Pizza Machine; which the kids loved of course.  And we went  down to see the cool trains by Gina's house. We also did lots of Black Friday shopping.  The kids had so much fun playing together all weekend. We were so glad we were able to spend that time with family.

4 Months Old

At Macie's 4 Month Check-up, she weighed 13 lbs 2.5 ounces (50%) was 24 inches long (just below 50%) and her head was between 10-25%-whatever that means.

Family Pictures

In October, we had our family pictures taken by a very talented friend in our ward.  She did a great job!  Here are just a few.
