Halloween

Finally, I'm posting about Halloween!  I'm always behind!  But better late than never, right?

It feels like every year, the list of Halloween festivities gets longer and longer, so it's always a relief when  the holiday has passed.  Maybe I'm the only one that feels that way, but I sure do.  I love Halloween, but it gets to be too much after the 12th party or activity.  We actually backed off a little this year and skipped a few of the festivities we had  planned on doing, so it was a little better.  We only did the ward trunk or treat, Parker's school party, trick or treating at Brown Park, and then real trick or treating door to door.  We have so much candy, we will never get rid of it all!

Long before Halloween, Kaeson decided he wanted to be a football player for Halloween, which we were all about because we have a Wyoming football jersey, so we wouldn't have to buy anything!  And Macie has a Wyoming cheerleader outfit that was handed down from her cousins, so we were thrilled to only have to come up with one other costume.  Well, while shopping for an idea for Parker's costume, Kaeson found a U of L football jersey that came with a helmet, and his eyes absolutely lit up.  I couldn't bear to take that pure joy away from him, so we gave in and let him be a Cardinal Football Player.  We tried to talk Parker into being a Wyoming football player and using that jersey, but he got his heart set on Batman.  Who are we to tell him he can't be what he wants for Halloween! All  the Batman costumes were really expensive or the wrong size or horribly ugly, so against my better judgment, i decided to make his costume.  What was I thinking? !

Fall Break

We had a great chance to go camping during fall break with some friends, and it was a great trip!  We ran into a few hiccups and didn't end up staying as long as we planned, but we had a great time while we were there. We all went on a hike to see the Natural bridge there, and apparently that's the only time I took any pictures of the trip!  The hike was beautiful, and the weather could not have been more perfect! The hike was pretty long and steep, and I was a little worried about whether the kids could handle it, but they were all champs!  They did awesome and never complained one time!

They boys with their favorite person on earth: Ella.

Our whole group up on the bridge

Megan showing me how zen she can be while sitting at the edge of the cliff.

Macie with her favorite person: Megan.  She honestly prefers Megan to me.  Kinda sad, but it's the cold hard truth!
Me and Macie squeezing through the narrow passage way up to the bridge.  Glad I wasn't more pregnant, cause I'm pretty sure I would have gotten stuck in there!
This scary rickety old hanging bridge at the very beginning of the hike.  Parker was saying " I hate this bridge, I hate this bridge" the whole way across. And when we got off, Kaeson threw his hands up in the air, jumped up and said, "That was awesome!" Classic example of the difference between them!

We were so glad we were able to take advantage of  the time off school and see a fun new place here in Kentucky!  It was well worth the trip, and it was a great bonus to go with such great friends!

Macie's New Shirt

New Hairstyles and Pierced Ears

With the slow growth of Macie's hair, has come some experimental hairstyles.  it's fun to see how far I can stretch it, but with nearly every do, I conclude that her hair is still not quite ready for that particular style.  So, I have fun trying, and just try to wait patiently for the day when her hair is long enough.
Her first ponytail.  It stayed like this for about two minutes!
Full Pigtails.  Also didn't last but a few minutes!
 More pigtails.
 Posing for the camera.

Then a couple weeks ago, we decided to do the unthinkable and take her to get her ears pierced!  I felt like a pretty horrible mother for a few minutes.  She screamed pretty hard, but only for a few minutes.  She looks adorable as can be and has done really well at leaving them alone.  The first night, every time she touched them, it hurt, so she quickly learned to leave them alone. It was sad to see her in pain, but I'm glad we did it while she's too young to know what was going on!
no idea what's coming to her!

Lance didn't get very good after pictures because she was so upset, and they made him stand by with cotton balls of cleaner to help with the pain.  this last picture is her in the car on the way home.  She touched her ears, and was not impressed!

Boys Night Out

A few weeks ago, a friend let Lance use his season tickets for a U of L Football game.  They were all so excited to have a fun night out with just the boys.  Because it was on a school night, they didn't stay the whole time, but it worked out perfect.  It was an extremely hot night, but they still had a great  time.  They were both so excited to tell me all about it when they got home.  We are so lucky to have a dad and husband that is so eager and willing to spend lots of quality time with us!
