And Baby Makes Six!

We are loving every minute of having a newborn once again in our home!  I always forget what a wonderful time it is to have a tiny new baby around!  I love newborns!  It's so sad they have to grow up!
I want to write a few things for my own record, so if you aren't interested, you certainly don't have to read it.

Oakley had her first doctor's appointment on Tuesday, and she weighed 8 lbs 8 oz, so she lost a little more after leaving the hospital ( she was 8. 10 at discharge), but we had to go back today to check her bilirubin levels and she is now gaining back and weighed 8. 10. Her bili count was 16 on Tuesday, but went down a little to 15 today, so we think she's in the clear.

So far she is a great baby, crying when she's hungry, and loving to be cuddled.  She sleeps all day through endless screams and squeals!  She is sleeping really well at night most nights.  Last night we were up twice, but the three nights before that only once a night.  Night before last she slept from 11- 5!  I feel more rested now than I did when I was pregnant! I'm sure we will run into some sleep hurdles in the near future, but I will enjoy this great sleep pattern while we have it!
Daddy and Oakley enjoying some cuddles her first day home from the hospital.
We sure loved having this SuperGrandma here for a few days!

Oakley did not love her first bath!
We talked Parker into holding her this one time!  Now whenever we ask him if he wants to hold her, he says, "no, I already held her once"

Kaeson ALWAYS wants to hold her!  He is my little helper at home!  I told him i was going to take a shower the other day, and he told me, "Ok. I will take good care of the baby, Mom"
Macie trying to help Oakley stop crying!  She's a little more help than I need most of the time!

Disclaimer: I promise I fix Macie's hair!  It seems every time we take pictures, it's early in the morning when we haven't finished getting everyone dressed, or right before bed when there is nothing left of her done up hair!

I may be a bit biased, but I think she is one beautiful baby!

Introducing....

Oakley Rebecca Anderson born Wednesday February 29, at 7:46 pm. She weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs 14 oz, and was 20 1/2 inches long.  It was a more difficult delivery than my last two, with an epidural that was not the best, added to her size, and she was in a difficult position.  She also had shoulder dystocia, which was a little scary, but we are very grateful for a wonderful doctor and nurses who acted quickly.

It was really fun not knowing the gender until she came! As soon as she was born, the doctor help her up and let Lance announce that it was a girl.  We were very surprised!  For whatever reason, we had both convinced ourselves she was a boy.

The kids meeting her in the hospital for the first time.
Macie was really unsure about the whole hospital situation at first, but after we gave her some time, she slowly warmed up to both me and the baby.  So far she has done really well with the baby.  We're keeping our fingers crossed that it lasts!
Kaeson loves her!  He loves to hold her and touch her head, and tell her how cute she is.
Our first picture as a family of six!
Look at that beautiful dark hair! It's not in Kaeson's league, but under all other comparisons, it's a lot of hair!
We think she is pretty perfect and a wonderful addition to our family! We know that our house will be crazy, loud, messy. and chaotic for a while, and at times we will wonder how to get through each day, but we also know we will figure it out day by day, and that we so blessed to have such a wonderful family!
